Sunday evening was an excursion to the ice rink in Guildford where I witnessed my first ever sporting event. The match was between local team the Flames and a bunch of skinny lads from Milton Keynes the Lightnings. It was pretty straight forward rules. Get puck into opposite goal as quickly as possible whist hugging the other team tightly so they cannot get the puck. Overall it was a pleasant game though there was a fist fight in the middle of the rink (between players) which everyone was excited about. I wasn't sure why they were fighting but they seamed keen. Anyway I now own my own Flames scarf.....
I managed to cram two activities into one weekend! Saturday night was spent at a barn dance where I spoke to new people and danced with many folks... sadly my dancing skills are seriously lacking and I was pretty hopeless. I love dancing, but I cant even spell rhythm! Tried to win a bird feeder in the raffle but I didn't.

resolutions....The month of January is upon us and as we are supposed to do this time of year, I have made some new years resolutions. (clearly I am running late as it's the 18th today and I'm only just organised enough to Blog about it. Anyway.... this is my plan. I don't do enough fun things in my life because I am lazy and I don't make time. I love lists. So I made a list to remind me to do some specific things every month.
Number 1: I must craft something (ideally to completion) Number 2: I must write a letter ( a happy mail letter with adornments and real effort) Number 3: I must read a book ( a whole one would be amazing but every page counts) Number 4: I must go on a social trip (and talk to other humans) Number 5: I must go on a fun trip (and have fun) Number 6: I must see a new film and finally I must Blog about it! I made myself a luminous reminder to help me along and so far it's working quite well. I am aware now of what I should be doing so I am organising my time a little better. I have already met up with a few people I haven't seen in a while and I've booked a weekend away and two trips to things I wouldn't normally have attended. Its been a fun month already so I consider my new years resolutions a success so far. It turned out that I am too poor to do anything as exciting as working at the Natural History Museum, A fact that did break me for a little while. Having now readjusted my attitude I am going to live differently this year. There is no need to save because it is clearly impossible for me in my current situation to have anything I really want. Its going to take me 20 years to save enough for a home at todays prices. I assume that in 20 years they will have gone up. So I will never own a house.
